Create a study
When creating a Route Monitoring study in iNode, you will first configure the core parameters that define what data is included and how results are generated. This includes selecting your route, defining update intervals, and specifying a date range — ensuring your study is tailored to your traffic analysis goals and geographic context.
To start a new study:
- Click Create
- Enter a name in the Name field.
Update Interval
The update interval determines how frequently your route is refreshed with new data. By default, you can enter a single interval directly into the Update Interval field.
Advanced Schedule
If you require more granular control, Advanced Schedule allows you to define updates at multiple specific minute intervals throughout the day.
- Click the + button to add a new interval.
- Select a colour and specify a time. The time must be between 1 and 60 minutes.
- Once selected click on Add
- Click Add to confirm. The interval will appear in the schedule list.
On Demand
On Demand gives you full control over when updates are retrieved. With this option you can:
- Define a specific date range.
- Select which days of the week you would like to receive updates.
- Specify the hours during which updates should be delivered.
By default, all days of the week and hours are unselected. Selected items will appear as shown below:
Available regions for your study creation
The highlighted area(s) on the map represent the available regions to you for your study creation, which is determined and preset by your account access. They can range from a single area/segment, to a city/state, or a country (countries).
Creating your route
With your study parameters configured, you can now define the route you wish to monitor. The route is created directly on the map by specifying an origin and destination within your area of interest.
To create a route:
- Zoom in on your area of interest or use the search bar to navigate to a specific location.
- Define your route area by drawing a polygon around the region of your choice.
- If you need to adjust the route, use the origin or destination icons or the blue action buttons to modify the start or end points.
- Once you are satisfied with your route, click Create.
