Overview
The Create your study section outlines the step-by-step workflow for building a TMC analysis in iNode. The process includes defining your route and refining the scope using date ranges, and time sets.
The following breaks down each step, guiding you in selecting the right options and configuring your study with clarity and confidence.
Draft a Route Monitoring Study
When creating a Route Monitoring study in iNode, you will first configure the core parameters that define what data is included and how results are generated. This includes selecting your route and defining your update settings. If your account is configured for the On Demand subscription type, additional scheduling options will also be available to further control when and how frequently updates are retrieved.
To start a new study:
- Click Create
- Enter a name in the Name field.
Update Interval
The update interval determines how frequently your route is refreshed with new data. By default, you can enter a single interval directly into the Update Interval field.
On Demand
If your account is configured for the On Demand subscription type, the following additional options will be available when creating your study:
- Define a specific date range for your monitoring window
- Select which days of the week you would like to receive updates
- Specify the hours during which updates should be delivered
By default, all days of the week and hours are unselected. Selected items will appear as shown below:
Advanced Schedule
If you require more granular control over your update intervals, Advanced Schedule allows you to define updates at multiple specific minute intervals throughout the day.
- Click the + button to add a new interval.
- Select a colour and specify a time. The time must be between 1 and 60 minutes.
- Once selected click on Add
- Click Add to confirm. The interval will appear in the schedule list.
Available Regions for Your Study Creation
The highlighted area(s) on the map represent the available regions to you for your study creation, which is determined and preset by your account access. They can range from a single area/segment, to a city/state, or a country (countries).
Creating Your Route
With your study parameters configured, you can now define the route you wish to monitor. The route is created directly on the map by specifying an origin and destination within your area of interest.
To create a route:
- Zoom in on your area of interest or use the search bar to navigate to a specific location.
- Define your route area by drawing a polygon around the region of your choice.
- Once your route is drawn, it will appear with blue dots along the path. These are via points - the first point is your origin and the last point is your destination. Any via points in between can be dragged to adjust the path of your route.
- Once you are satisfied with your route, click Create.
