Credit Calculation
Route Monitoring studies use credits to control how updates are consumed. The way credits are used depends on how your study is configured.
Standard Monitoring
When On Demand is not enabled, your study is charged at a single fixed annual price. No credits are calculated or consumed, your route data refreshes automatically at your configured update interval for the duration of the year.
On Demand
When On Demand is enabled, credits are consumed based on your chosen update interval, daily window, and study duration. Each interval within your selected time window triggers one update and deducts one credit from your purchased balance. The shorter your interval, the more frequently updates occur and the more credits are consumed.
Credits are calculated as follows:
(60 ÷ interval in minutes) × number of hours per day × number of days = total credits
Intervals can be set anywhere from 1 to 60 minutes.
Example
A user has On Demand enabled with a 2-hour daily window, a 15-minute update interval, and a 5-day study duration:
- 60 ÷ 15 = 4 updates per hour
- 4 × 2 hours = 8 credits per day
- 8 × 5 days = 40 credits total
If their credit balance is depleted before the end of their selected date range, the study will stop and no further updates will be retrieved until additional credits are purchased.
