Select Date Ranges
Date range selection defines the time period over which your study will be conducted. You can set start and end dates, include or exclude specific days, and customize the reporting period to match project needs. Whether analyzing a single day, multiple weeks, or an entire year, this step provides flexibility and control.
Creating a Date Range
Adding a date range can be done by:
- Clicking on Add New Date Range
- Using an existing template - see Using Existing Date Range and Time Set Templates below
Adding New Date Range
To add a new date range for your study:
- Click Add new date range.
- Enter a name for the date range.
- Select your desired start and end dates from the calendar. The minimum selectable range is 1 day, and the maximum is 1 year.
Customizing days
After choosing your date range, you can refine your selection by:
- Excluded days: Remove specific dates by selecting them directly in the calendar.
- Days of the week: Exclude recurring weekdays (e.g., remove Sundays) by unchecking them in the selection panel.
This allows precise filtering, such as excluding holidays or weekends, without altering the entire range.
Multiple date ranges
You can add up to four different date ranges by repeating the steps above. This is useful for comparing patterns across different weeks, seasons, or project phases.
Select Time Sets
The time set selection step allows you to define the specific time intervals for which results will be generated in your study. Since traffic conditions and travel patterns vary throughout the day, this feature gives you the flexibility to analyze data using either standardized hourly sets or custom-defined ranges.
You can quickly generate all 24 one-hour intervals, create your own time sets, and save commonly used ranges as templates for future studies. This ensures efficiency, consistency, and precision when tailoring results to exact timeframes.
Selecting Time Sets
You have two options of selecting the time sets for which results are needed.
- Select 24 hours
- Add New Time Set
- Using an existing template — see Using Existing Date Range and Time Set Templates below
The minimum selectable interval is 1 hour.
Select 24 Hours
By clicking Select 24 hours, the system automatically generates 24 one-hour time sets, ranging from 00:00–01:00 up to 23:00–24:00. This option is useful for a full-day analysis or when you want consistent hourly breakdowns without manual setup.
Add New Time Sets
You can also create custom time ranges, such as 07:00–10:00, by clicking the add new time set button. This flexibility ensures that you can focus on specific time windows of interest, such as peak hours or off-peak periods.
To do this:
- Click Add New Time Set
- Enter a name for the time set
- Select the desired time intervals using the slider
- Confirm and accept the time set
Save Date Ranges and Time Sets as Templates
For date ranges and time sets that are used frequently across multiple studies, you can save them as Templates. Templates make it easy to reuse configurations in future studies, ensuring consistency across projects and saving time.
The steps are the same for both:
- Click Save as a new template in the top-right corner of the page.
- Enter a name for your template.
- Click Save.
To update an existing template, select the template you want to update and click Update template.
Using Existing Date Range and Time Set Templates
If you have previously saved a template, you can apply it directly instead of building a date range or time set from scratch. The steps are the same for both:
- Click Use existing template.
- Type and select the name of your template from the list.
