Bluetooth Beacon
This guide explains how to activate a Bluetooth beacon and connect to it for configuration using the BeaconSET+ mobile application. This step is required so that the beacon is detectable by iNode.
Prerequisites
- Your Android device
- The BeaconSET+ app installed from the Google Play Store
- The beacon's connection password
Activating the Beacon
Follow the steps below to power on and activate your Bluetooth beacon. Once activated, the beacon will be visible to iNode and will begin transmitting data.
Step 1: Install the BeaconSET+ app
Download and install the BeaconSET+ app on your Android device.
Step 2: Power on the beacon
Open the app and start scanning. While the app is scanning, hold the power button on the beacon until it appears in the list. Once it does, you will see it listed as shown below, confirming the beacon has been detected.
Your beacon is now active and ready for use. If you don't need to change any settings, no further action is required.
Connecting to the Beacon
To modify the beacon's settings or turn it off, you must connect to it through the app. The beacon must be in connectable mode (indicated by a green circle) to accept a connection.
Step 3: Enter connectable mode
When the green circle is visible next to the beacon in the list, the beacon is in connectable mode. As shown below, the green circle indicates the beacon is ready to accept a connection. Tap it to begin the connection flow, then enter the provided password when prompted.
Connectable Mode Timeout
A few minutes after powering on, the beacon automatically transitions to unconnectable mode (grey circle). To re-enter connectable mode, press the power button once. The circle will turn green again, and the beacon will be available for connection.
