Select date ranges
Date range selection defines the time period your study will cover. You can set start and end dates, include or exclude specific days, and tailor the reporting window to match your project needs. Whether you’re analyzing a single day, multiple weeks, or an entire year, this step gives you full flexibility and control over the study period.
Create a date range
Adding a date range can be done by:
- Creating a new date range
- Using an existing date range template.
1. Create a new date range
To add a new date range for your study:
- Click Add new date range.
- Enter a name for the date range.
- Select the start and end dates from the calendar. The minimum range is 1 day, and the maximum is 1 year.
Customizing days
After selecting your date range, you can refine your selection by:
- Excluding specific dates: Remove specific dates by clicking them directly in the calendar.
- Excluding days of the week: Exclude recurring weekdays (e.g., remove Sundays) by unchecking them in the selection panel.
These options allow precise filtering, such as excluding holidays, weekends, or atypical days, without modifying the overall date range.
2. Use existing templates
You can also apply an existing template to your study:
- Click Use existing template.
- Type and select the name of your template from the list.
Frequently used date ranges can be saved as templates. Templates make it easy to reuse configurations in future studies, ensuring consistency across projects and saving time.
Saving date ranges as templates
When you create a new date range, you can save it as a template:
- Click Save as a new template in the top-right corner of the page.
- Enter a name for your template.
- Click Save.
To update an existing template, simply click Update template.
Select time sets
Because traffic varies throughout the day, the time set selection step lets you define the specific time intervals you want to analyze. You can choose from standard hourly sets or create custom time ranges that match your study requirements.
You can quickly generate all 24 one-hour intervals, build your own time sets, and save frequently used ranges as templates for future studies. This ensures a consistent, efficient, and precise approach to analyzing results by time of day.
Select time sets
- Click on Time Selection. You have three options:
- Add new time set
- Select 24 hours
- Select 96 quarter hours
- Click Add New Time Set
- Enter a name for the time set
- Select the desired time intervals using the slider
- Confirm and accept the time set
Add new time sets
You can also create custom time ranges by clicking the Add New Time Set button. This flexibility ensures that you can focus on specific time windows of interest, such as peak hours or off-peak periods.
To do this:
Select 24 Hours
By clicking Select 24 hours, the system automatically generates 24 one-hour time sets, ranging from 00:00-01:00 to 23:00-24:00. This option is useful for a full-day analysis or when you want consistent hourly breakdowns without manual setup.
Select 96 Quarter Hours
By clicking Select 96 quarter hours, the system automatically generates 15-minute one-time sets, ranging from 00:00-00:15 to 23:45-24:00. This option is useful for a full-day analysis or when you want consistent hourly breakdowns without manual setup.
Save time sets as templates
For time sets that are used frequently across multiple studies, you can save them as Templates. This eliminates the need to recreate the same intervals, ensuring faster setup and consistent analysis across projects.
